I've been an avid collector of Antarctic PRess' Gold Digger since High School (b&w issue 33, I think), and my friendly not-as-local-as-I-would-like comic shop was good enough to hold any incoming copies for me. When I moved states, I was not to find a shop so kind. Hardly any comic shop within several counties carries much from Antarctic beyond Ninja High School, their flagship, and a few issues or so of their newer stuff like Pirates vs. Ninjas (which I really should have picked up anyway). Needless to say, it's been hard to keep tabs on Gold Digger. Luckily when I finally made the hour drive to one store that sells them, available on the rack was the Official Handbook to the Gold Digger Universe issue 6. This series is an encyclopedia of everything Gold Digger, and ish 6 included full stats and bios on characters, places and objects from the comic starting with Gn-J. The bios are complete as of several months ago which fills me in on a few dire story arcs that I missed out on, especially helpful since the wiki on the comic is scant.
I need a nap.

Have you heard this yet?

I just found out through Peter David's blog.

Always surprising and sad.
More Marvel comics than you can shake a severed arm at.
Did you miss? Did you really? I didn't think so. Fine, then, while I'm weeping into my beer, which in and of itself is a form of alcohol abuse, read the past weeks you missed.

It's Marvelous!
...and this one time, at Band Camp, I put my flute in my Weekly Haul.
Too many puppies
are being shot in the dark.
Too many puppies
are trained not to bark
at the sight of the blood
that must be spilled
so that we may maintain our oil fields.
Too many puppies.

Too many puppies
are taught to heal.
Too many puppies
are trained to kill
on the command of men wearing money belts
that buy their mistresses sleek animal pelts.
Too many puppies.

Too many puppies
with guns in their hands.
Too many puppies
in foreign lands
are dressed up sharp in suits of green
and placed upon the war machine.

Too many puppies are just like me.
Too many puppies are afraid to see
the visions of the past
brought to life again.

Too many puppies.

Too many dead men.

Our secret guest announcer says...

"Thousands of years ago in the future, comics will be bought that make up a haul. They will be bought weekly by the masses that are addicted to the chemicals secretly laced into the inks, chemicals that make them think the stories are good when they are in fact crap. Yes, and on that by-gone distant day in the future when this haul of comics is reviewed it will be known as the Weekly Haul. Fear it's wrath for it will smite you beyond all your imaginings of your smitability. Now click on this link. Click on it!!"

Sorry. We now return you to your regularly scheduled friends page.
World War III

I think it was lame.
So read why.

"What's all this, then?"
I wanted to write reviews of some of my favorite adult comics because adult comics never get any props. Geez, totally dissed cuz they ain't mainstream.

Without further ado, and starting with my favoritest...

1. Small Favors by Colleen Coover, published by Eros Comix. It's the cutest girly porno comic EVER, without a single squicky moment. I've loved all of her work but this one was definitely my top fave. I need to get the trade collections before my comics fall apart completely. You can check her out at colleencooveror cooverart. Woo-hoo!

2. Emily's Secret by Marcus Gray, published by NBM. You can check out his artwork here but it is so definitely not work safe! His beautifully retro/fetish style is both classy and wet-ifying. The story, set in a Victorian-styled future, is just super duper hot and lovely as Emily explores her sexuality in lots of fun ways.

3. Alice In Sexland (which became Alice Extreme for the second volume) from Eros Comix. Gorgeously over-the-top manga art and beautifully fetishtastic character designs bring this kinky Alice In Wonderland remake to life. There are a few scenes of rape that creeped me out a little but it's not as bad as most Japanese porn, and is for the most part a lot of sex, fun, and much, much more sex.

I hope that if you check any of these out that you enjoy them as much as I do!
